Kilimanjaro Day 2
This is some of the pathway up on the second day. A little more rock scrambling today.
You can see what the porters carry in this next picture. They also have their personal backpacks too.
Time for a rest. These are mostly all customers, maybe a few guides. There were a lot of people making the climb.
You can see in the centre of the picture the camp we left in the morning.
And here is the ultimate goal. Still a long way off.
Shira Ridge in the distance. You can see a few hikers on the right, a person in yellow, and a couple of more further up.
Up above the clouds.
You can see the path entering on the left about halfway up the picture and heading up to the crest. There’s an outhouse a little ways from the left of the picture on the horizon.
You can see the Shira Campsite and the pathway leading to it.
Shira Campsite! Around 12,375 ft. Whew! made it.
I ate very well on the trip. This is my second course. Already ate two bowls of soup. There’s still half my chicken cutlets, a bowl of stew, big pile of rice, and fried bananas. Then desert! Notice my tablecloth and all the condiments.
The final objective to the east, with the setting sun shinning on it.
And to the west, the setting sun with Mount Meru, clouds and tent city in the foreground.
